THE MISSION OF THIS BOOK AND SERIES
The Flags of Freedom Trilogy is a grassroots passion project to accomplish its primary mission to help Educate, Inspire and
Motivate Young Americans (of all ages), to develop a love for, and a desire to learn more about the Flags, History, Form of
Government, and America’s Founding Principles & Values, that over 250-years, were responsible for creating the most successful,
prosperous, moral, powerful, and exceptional experiment in Human Freedom the world has ever known—AMERICA!
Freedom, Faith, Flags, and Democracy are four of the first cornerstones in the foundation this nation was built upon. A nation that
was only made possible by the genius of our nation’s Founders, and the sacrifices of blood, sweat, pain, heartbreak, and treasure that
were so freely and selflessly given, even to the point of death, by the 10 or so generations of Americans who came before you. Now it is
your generation’s turn to selflessly sacrifice and pass-on the precious and sacred “Legacy of Freedom” those brave Americans left to
you, along with the responsibility to protect, defend, improve upon, and secure the many Blessings of Liberty for each new generation
that follows yours. From 1776 to 2026, this has been the proud work and responsibility of generations of patriotic American citizens, but,
if even one generation fails to live up to this responsibility, our ancestor’s many sacrifices, and the continuation of the American
experiment in Freedom and Liberty will fail, bringing to an end the hopes, dreams, and aspirations of the millions of Americans who
faithfully kept their promise to America, to you, your family, friends, and to the unborn generations of Americans yet to come.
But there’s another challenge facing us that must be addressed, and soon. Recent generations of young Americans have not been
taught about America’s history, form of government, and most of all, the critical life lessons that that history teaches them. Lessons that
will, in part, help determine their future, and by extension, the future of America. Sadly, many our schools have failed in their responsibility
to properly teach our children traditional American history and civics courses, and imbued in them the behaviors and responsibilities
needed to become an informed and responsible citizen—citizens on which the future success and survival of our nation depends. Flags
of Freedom’s mission is to help provide the educational tools and spark needed to expose and remedy this problem. So, if you truly
believe that the future of our country is our children, I hope you will consider partnering with me in my mission to push back and reverse
the rising tide of historical illiteracy, and the ebbing tide of Patriotism that threatens the country we so dearly love. — The Author

Dedication
Freedom isn’t Free, and Liberty, Once Won, Takes Eternal Vigilance and Sacrifice to Keep.
On July 4th 1776, as the Founding Fathers were signing the Declaration of Independence, they knew that
winning America’s Freedom and Independence from Great Britain would come at a very high cost. They also
knew it would require tremendous sacrifices of manpower, money, property, sweat, blood, suffering, and death,
whether or not they achieved victory. Thank God they had the courage and willingness to sign their names to
pay the high cost of our Freedom, despite knowing they were probably signing their own death warrants!
Since that 1st generation of brave American Patriots took up arms to pay the high cost of our freedom some
250 years ago, only 1% of the 10 generations of American citizens born since 1776 have been willing to serve in
our nation’s armed forces. Of those who signed up, over 1.1 million paid the ultimate price for fulfilling their
sacred oath to Protect and Defend America’s Constitution, and our nation’s Freedom. Freedoms that are unfortunately too often taken for
granted by the other 99% of Americans who’ve enjoyed the fruits of their sacrifices, but have either been unwilling, or unable, to do the same.
Now it’s up to today’s generation of young American Patriots to step up and help pay the continuing high price of Freedom.
I’m grateful, proud, and humbled to dedicate this book to all active US Military service members, veterans, and their families, who also
quietly serve the Cause of Freedom at home. In particular, this book is dedicated to my family members who, for well over a century, answered
our nation’s Call of Duty to serve in uniform and protect our treasured American freedoms. The brave patriots who serve our nation in uniform
are all truly heroes, and I proudly dedicate this book, “Flags of Freedom—The Quest for Freedom,” to them, and to all young Americans with
the courage to answer their nation’s Call of Duty. This book was written in their honor, and is my small contribution to American freedom
and to the country that I so dearly love.
From a Grateful American, Franklin Davis, Author
