elcome to the “America 250 Edition” of “Flags of Freedom—The Quest for Freedom,” the first volume in “The Flags of Freedom
Trilogy” series of Flag History and American History books. Over this first chapter in the series, you’ll experience the epic adventure
story of the journey to “American Freedom” as told by 20 of America’s most historic “Flags of Freedom.” Each of their first-person accounts
and perspectives of the People, Places, and Events that took place over the eras of America’s Early-History, and Founding History, is what
makes this version of America’s story so uniquely different from any other American history book you’ve ever read! That’s because most
history books are written in the third-person, past-tense from the modern-day perspective of an anonymous, omniscient narrator looking back on
our nation’s long-gone past. “Flags of Freedom,” however, is told in the first-person, present-tense, putting you there in the midst of the action
by giving voice to each of the personified “Flags of Freedom” that helped lead from the discovery to the birth of America and the many
freedoms that we still enjoy today!
In this “Streaming-Book” format, you’ll not only read about each of those silent eyewitnesses of our history in the making, they‘ll “Come
to Life” through Video, Audio Narrations, and Animations. They’ll share their accounts with you of the pivotal roles they played in helping
advance America’s “Quest for Freedom.” Each flag will tell you what they witnessed as our ancestors Discovered, Explored, Settled, Fought
For, and Won the precious Freedoms that every American citizen has cherished over two-and-one-half-centuries. This book will explore and
celebrate the many flags that helped lead the way to the freedoms that we celebrate over America’s 250th “Semiquincentennial” Anniversary!
God Bless the Patriots and Flags that gave us our many Freedoms and Liberties & God Bless America!

Freedom Takes Courage to Win & the Wisdom gained from Knowledge of America’s Past to Keep
On July 4th 1776, as the Founding Fathers were approving the final version of the Declaration of
Independence, they knew that winning America’s Freedom and Independence from Great Britain would come at
a very high cost. They also knew it would require tremendous sacrifices of manpower, money, property, sweat,
blood, suffering, and death, whether or not they achieved victory. Thank God they had the courage and
willingness to sign their names to pay the high cost of our Freedom, despite knowing they were probably signing
their own death warrants!
Since that 1st generation of brave American Patriots took up arms to pay the high cost of our freedom some
250 years ago, only 1% of the 10 generations of American citizens born since 1776 have been willing to serve in
our nation’s armed forces. Of those who signed up, over 1.2 million paid the ultimate price for fulfilling their sacred oath to Protect and
Defend America’s Constitution, and our nation’s Freedom. Freedoms that are too often taken for granted by the other 99% of Americans
who’ve enjoyed the fruits of their sacrifices, but have either been unwilling, or unable to also makes their own sacrifice. Now it’s up to today’s
generations of young American Patriots to step up and help pay the high cost of Freedom.
I’m grateful, proud, and humbled to dedicate this book to all active US Military service members, veterans, and their families, who also
quietly serve the Cause of Freedom at home. In particular, this book is dedicated to my family members who, for well over a century, answered
our nation’s Call of Duty to serve in uniform and protect our treasured American freedoms. The brave patriots who serve our nation in uniform
are all truly heroes, and I proudly dedicate this book, “Flags of Freedom—The Quest for Freedom,” to them, and to all young Americans with
the courage to also answer their nation’s Call of Duty. This book was written in their honor, and is my small contribution to American freedom
and to the country that I so dearly love. — From a Grateful American, Franklin Davis, Author
